What You Need to Know About McDonald’s

McDonald’s is a large and successful fast food chain. This American brand, which started in San Bernardino, California in 1948, has over a thousand restaurants worldwide, which have a total of over three million employees. Its headquarters are in Chicago. Despite its success, it is facing competition from other large food chains such as Subway, Taco Bell, and KFC.

The first hamburgers sold at McDonald’s cost 15 cents each. Maurice and Richard McDonald were two brothers who decided to start a small business selling hamburgers, but quickly grew their venture into a major franchise. They opted to use a combination of fresh and frozen beef that allowed them to create easier burger shapes and more quickly heat them.

Their famous hamburgers are known as Big Macs. These are served with fries, ketchup, and cheese. There are other variants on the McDonald’s menu, such as the Filet-O-Fish, which features a fried square patty of Alaska Pollock.

McDonald’s has been in the news for various reasons, both good and bad. For one, they have been threatened with legal action over their logo and name, and have even been found guilty of a number of other scandals. In September 2018, the company announced that they would be taking out artificial ingredients from seven of their classic burgers.

Another interesting fact about McDonald’s is that it boasts a self-service counter in some of its restaurants. However, this does not mean that there are no waiting staff. Rather, it focuses on giving customers a better experience by encouraging them to spend more time in the restaurant.

They also have an impressive assortment of value-priced breakfast items. One of the most popular is the Quarter Pounder with Cheese. This is a burger that includes a quarter pound of cheese, pickles, and slivers of onion. Also on the menu is the Breakfast Burrito.

Another breakfast gizmo is the Oreo McFlurry. This dessert is not a milkshake. Instead, it features a smattering of OREOs, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate syrup. Whether or not you think this is a true miracle is up to you.

Aside from its breakfast menu, McDonald’s has also introduced an array of specialty dishes, such as the MacBurger, which contains bacon, onions, and tomatoes. While this item is not as big as the Big Mac, it does have a higher profit margin. Other specialty items on the menu include grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, and the Filet-O-Fish.

Of course, there are also the aforementioned McDonald’s trinity. If you’re looking for a good value meal, the Sausage Egg McMuffin and egg and cheese muffin are both excellent choices. To be honest, these are not as good as a burger, but they do have their share of benefits. Besides, these items are cheaper than the Egg McMuffin.

Even though McDonald’s has had its fair share of controversy and lawsuits, the brand remains the leader in the quick service restaurant industry. However, their competitors, such as Subway and KFC, are also making moves to gain market share.
